Amazing Love, How Can It Be? (Psalm 84-85; 87)

You forgave the iniquity of your people;
    you covered all their sin.  Psalm 85:2

Friend, hear the words of a fellow Christ follower. Slow down this day and take a few moments and consider God. Yes, rest your mind from work and stress and consider God. Yes, rest your heart from anxiety and consider the awe of God. Yes, rest your feet and come before the God who carries you.

This morning, for those who take this challenge you will come away singing “amazing love, how can it be.”

In these moments, place Psalm 85 before your heart and mind. Take these moments and look for God. As you look for God notice what He has done:

  • He blessed the land and gave people a place in the land, Vs:1.
  • He forgave their sin and covered their sin, Vs: 2.
  • He withdrew all His wrath, Vs: 3.
  • He extended mercy, Vs: 4.

Please pause now and praise Him for who He is and what He does.

Now, let your mind and heart do as did the Psalmist in Vs: 5-7. He asked God to do again what He had done for others. The Psalmist knew that God would extend His blessings again, Vs: 8-13, to all who would turn from their sins and embrace a life of faith in Jesus.

Friends, this is amazing in my mind, heart, and soul! I believe it will be again. Because of this Word from the Word, the Spirit has cleared my mind, encouraged my heart, and placed strength to share this gospel with the nations!!!

Oh how true it is, “Amazing Love, How can it be, That You My King Would Die for me.”
