What Have We been Told? (Acts 26-27)

25 So take heart, men, for I have faith in God that it will be exactly as I have been told. Acts 26:25

It has been 9 days since our national elections in America. For some people the question of who will be the next president is still to be decided. It seems there is conflicting information everywhere. We are being told of corruption in voting, chaos in the streets, and a prediction by the president elect that there is a dark winter ahead. These things are enough to discourage the average person.

Question: What have you been told in recent days?

In my personal life I have discovered that whoever is speaking the most into my life has the most profound impact on my life.

As we come to Acts 26 and 27 we discover how the voices speaking to the Apostle Paul had a profound impact on his life. Before coming to Christ Paul gives witness to the impact of the Pharisees in his life. Because of his training Paul became a man filled with fury toward all Christians (26:8-11).

Paul also gives witness to the impact of Christ in his life. Because of Christ’s impact Paul became a man who impacted untold numbers of people with the gospel.

As you and I consider all the voices that speak into our lives we must decide which voices we have faith in. I confess to you openly and passionately, the most important voice in my life is the voice of God which comes to me daily through His Word. I also much confess that there are times when other voices get into my head. In those times I must take every thought captive to obey Christ.

Each day there are so many voices that want you ear. Take heart, God has said “trust in Him…” Prov. 3:5-6.
