When the truth comes out (Matthew 23)

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. Matthew 23:1-3

Well it’s here, “our last full day in our spring Malawi trip.”  To say, “it’s been amazing,” would be a total understatement.  In our time here at least 600 people have responded to the gospel invitation.  We cannot be sure of who was genuine, but we are sure we have trained the pastors to do the work of follow-up!  I want to say thank you to our rope holders who have both paid the way and prayed all the way for our team!  Because of you the trip has been beyond all expectations.

One of the major amazing parts of our team has been the united effort of 12 people who made up this trip.  This team has loved each other, pulled for each other, stood in the gap for each other, given to each other, and stood in the shadows so that Christ would be glorified.  I can honestly say, “I love each team member for what Christ has done in us.”

I also want to say, a special thank you to Dr. Ovi who has made our time so productive.  His daily ground work with his team in each village has made the trip so easy.  Please pray for the work of Hope for the Future which is just now starting to see the potential of God building the church.

As I read Matthew 23, I thought how thankful I am for brothers and sisters in Christ who are practicing what they preach. I thought about FBC Jackson and so many other churches that are practicing what they preach.  Oh how I pray that Christ will continue to grow us in the love of Christ!!!
